It's all about snuggle time
First stroller ride...
...didn't go too well.
Maybe next time.
Meanwhile back at the ranch, daddy and the girls build a new firepit (with a hot chocolate reward).
New hat by Big Sister :)
First full bath
First time in the bouncy seat
Lots of firsts this week. So fun!

So I've been trying to think how to write about Sweetpea's arrival in our lives. But really, how can you put in words the overwhelming excitement and love you feel over a new baby?
I was induced two weeks early due to high blood pressure issues, and I have to admit I was anxious about her birth. There was my "advanced maternal age", the fact that I was too sick to take prenatal vitamins regularly for the first three months, worries over preeclampsia (which thankfully never developed), and then every other issue that moms-to-be get nervous over. I knew that whatever happened was in God's hands, but I was overwhelmingly thrilled and relieved and thankful when, after a rough but relatively quick labor, this precious baby arrived safe and sound.
With her coming early, I didn't quite have time to get sick and tired of pregnancy, so I spent the first days after her birth amazed that I wasn't pregnant anymore, amazed that a tiny new being was in my arms instead of my belly. Amazed and incredibly, gratefully happy. And even through the long nights and sleep deprivation, I've stayed that way ever since.
We all couldn't be more excited about our newest family member. The girls couldn't keep their eyes and hands off of her from the moment they met her. Even big brother can't help but smile when she gazes up at him. And of course, daddy is totally smitten with his new princess.
Know that you are so, so loved baby girl, and we thank God everyday that you and your sweet cheeks are here.
